What are porcelain veneers?
A porcelain veneer is like a thin shell of porcelain that is applied to the front of your teeth. The veneers are individually shaped and colored and, after application, form a thin layer on the outside of the teeth. How does the process of placing porcelain veneers work?

Before the treatment begins, the dentist takes photographs and a digital impression (3D scan) of your teeth. This is sent to our dental technicians, who digitally “paint” on the photograph so that the patient can see the final result before treatment begins. This is to ensure that the dentist and patient agree on the desired outcome and possible result. With the help of the digital impression, the technician creates a model of your teeth and builds up the porcelain veneers on it (Wax up). After that, guides are made for the dentist directly on the Wax-up model. With these guides, the dentist can see how much of the tooth needs to be ground away to make room for the new material. In this way, we can work as minimally invasively as possible and remove as little as possible of the patient’s own tooth. It is desirable to preserve as much of the natural tooth as possible.
