A porcelain veneer is like a thin shell of porcelain that is applied to the front of your teeth. Before the treatment starts, the dentist takes a photo and a digital impression (3D scan) of your teeth. This is sent to our dental technicians who "paint" digitally on the photo so that the patient can see a final result before the treatment begins. This is to ensure that the dentist and the patient agree on wishes and possible results. After that, guides are made to the dentist directly on the Waxup model. With these guides, the dentist can see how much of the tooth needs to be ground away to accommodate the new material.
